Hillstone Homes Adopts Light Gauge Steel Framing

At Hillstone, innovation has always been central to the way we build. As new technologies and modern methods of construction emerge, we’re committed to embracing solutions that make a difference. For two of our newest projects; Four Wents and Rose Gate, we are moving forward in partnership with Steel Homes and utilising light gauge steel framing (LGSF) for the first time. LGSF is a modern, precision-engineered construction method.

Why Light Gauge Steel Framing?

Light gauge steel framing is a construction system that uses thin, roll-formed steel sections to create a strong, lightweight structural frame. Despite being lightweight, steel provides structural performance and delivers consistent quality. This removes many of the common issues associated with traditional timber framing.

LGSF components are quickly assembled once on location. This speeds up the overall build schedule and reduces on-site disruption. It also offers a more sustainable frame for the homes, as steel is fully recyclable, meaning there is minimal waste. With environmental considerations becoming increasingly important, LGSF looks to be a step forward for developers.
